Sturrock: I want Blair to stay

Southend manager Paul Sturrock is keen to keep his son Blair at the club ahead of the upcoming season.

Sturrock junior has so far failed to agree a new contract at Roots Hall, but his father is keen for the forward to remain part of his plans. "I would like Blair to stay because you need centre forwards who all offer something different," Sturrock told the Echo. "Sometimes different players will suit certain types of opposition or tactics you want to play and I want Blair to be available. "He has met with our chief executive Tara (Brady) and hopefully the situation can be sorted."
