The highly-rated Hatters ace has caught they eye of a number of clubs this season with a number of impressive displays and Kinnear admitted two clubs - one of which a Premiership club - had made offers for the 20-year-old ace.
"I've had offers for Taylor. Two offers. I had an offer from Southampton and one from West Brom," Kinnear said.
"West Brom offered half a million plus James Quinn. They valued Quinn as a striker at £500,000 and I didn't, so that fell through.
"Southampton wasn't the money that I was looking for and they wanted to pay it over two or three years. I wanted the money up front so that I could invest it back in if I am going to lose either of them."
Taylor is out of contract at Kenilworth Road in the summer and Kinnear admits he will have to consider offers or risk losing him cheaply to a transfer tribunal.
He is also hoping to hold on to Matthew Spring, who is also out of contract at the end of the season, and admits he is holding talks with both players' agents to try and keep them at the club.
"I'd love to keep him (Taylor) and Spring, the other lad who's out of contract," Kinnear added.
"They were both outstanding tonight (in the 4-1 win against Kidderminsster). They both think they can play in the First Division. I'd hate to lose them and they both know that. I'm speaking to both their agents, but it's a case of their own bank books, which happens to a lot of players today."
