The 20-year-old has attracted the interest of a number of top clubs and Kinnear knows he faces a losing battle to keep him at Kenilworth Road.
Both Southampton and West Brom have expressed an interest in Taylor and with the player out of contract in the summer Kinnear is hoping to cash-in on him or risk losing him cheaply to a transfer tribunal.
"I have received numerous enquiries about him, including some from clubs in the Premiership," Kinnear told the club's official website. "His agent is aware of that and it seems that the player is determined to leaves us at the end of his contract, which is very disappointing.
"He is an outstanding talent and I think he will probably go on to play for England in the future. He is only 20 but has played nearly 150 first team games for us.
"If he were with a Premiership club he would be a regular in the England Under-21 side and would be pushing for place in the full England team.
"I will expect this club to be adequately recompensed for bringing him through the ranks from a 14-year-old with potential to a regular first teamer."
