Two late goals for Crewe lifted them off the bottom of the table. Two late goals for Crewe Alexandra lifted them off the bottom of the table as they defeated Luton Town 3-1 at Gresty Road.
Goals in the final two minutes from Kenny Lunt and Luke Varney gave the home side victory over high-flyers Luton.
Town took control of the game from the first whistle as they created a handful of chances early on.
The visitors deservedly took the lead on the half-hour mark when Dean Morgan finished neatly after good work from Ahmet Brkovic.
Luton continued to press and could easily have gone in at the break in control.
However, the scores were level at the break as Billy Jones struck his second of the season eight minutes before half time.
With the game looking like petering out into a draw, first Lunt, then Varney gave the home fans something to cheer late on.
An unmarked Lunt slotted home from inside the area after a cross from Luke Rodgers fell to him with just two minutes of the 90 remaining.
In the final minute, Crewe made sure of victory through second half substitute Varney as he converted Anthony Tonkin's perfect cross.
The result means Crewe are now off the bottom of the table while Luton missed the chance to close the gap on second-placed Reading.
