Parkin out to impress

New Luton striker Sam Parkin is aiming to work on his fitness.

Luton striker Sam Parkin is aiming to work on his fitness before The Championship recommences on Saturday.

The 25-year-old recently completed a £340,000 move from Ipswich but he faces a battle to break into the Hatters team, with several top forwards already at Kenilworth Road.

He is determined to make the most of the current international break and get back into top shape.

"We're in a two-week break so it's given me a chance to do a bit of training and get to know the lads," he told Luton's official website.

"It gives me the opportunity to get a bit fitter, to get sharper and get ready for the next game.

"I had three seasons at Swindon scoring 20-plus goals but now I've stepped up a level and come to new surroundings, so it's important I get playing and scoring goals again."
