Darlington have shelved plans to sign Adam Boyd from Luton Town.Darlington have shelved plans to sign Adam Boyd from Luton Town, but Clarke Keltie has signed a new deal with the League Two club.
Boyd held talks with Darlington last week after being made available by Luton, just a year after joining from Hartlepool United.
But the striker will not be returning to the North East after Quakers chief executive Jon Sotnick confirmed the club's interest had ended.
"I can confirm that Darlington Football Club will not be following up its interest in Luton Town striker Adam Boyd," Sotnick told the club's official website.
"We met with the player and his agent at the Darlington Arena earlier this week, but the talks did not go as well as expected."
Meanwhile, midfielder Keltie has signed a new one-year contract at Darlington to the delight of manager Dave Penney.
"I am pleased that Clark has agreed to sign a new deal," said Penney.
"He has served this club well and his tough tackling and battling midfield performances will be invaluable as we strive for promotion."
