Adam Boyd has joined Leyton Orient after having his contract terminated by Luton Town.
The striker spent just one season at Kenilworth Road following a £500,000 move and was available for transfer by The Hatters this summer.
A return to the North East with Darlington fell through and Luton decided to free Boyd from his contract by mutual consent.
The 25-year-old has moved quickly to find a new home and has linked up with Martin Ling's Leyton Orient on a two-year deal.
"Adam has a wonderful record in League One, and although he didn't have the best of times last season, there is still a quality player in there," Ling said.
"There has been a change of regime at Luton, and they felt it best he moved on, and I am delighted that Adam has decided to join us.
"That completes the striking department, and it is an area of the squad I am very happy with."
