Yeovil have signed Andy Kirk, but have hit a setback in their bid to sign Lewis Emanuel from Luton.

But transfer of Emanuel yet to go through

Yeovil Town have completed the signing of Andy Kirk, but have encountered a setback in their bid to bring in Lewis Emanuel from Luton Town. Kirk has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract with Yeovil and joins the club on a free transfer from League One rivals Northampton Town. Glovers boss Russell Slade is happy with his new recruit and is expecting the striker to add a poacher's touch to his side. "We are delighted that we have got him, he is a proven goalscorer and we are looking forward to seeing him play," Slade told the club's official website.

Little poacher

"You only have to look at the stats for him, he scores goals regularly and at every single club that he has been at. "His record stands up, he has trained with the boys this morning (Thursday) and he is just a little poacher and has scored most of his goals between the goalline and the penalty spot." But Slade's attempts to snare Emanuel, who was also wanted by Lincoln, have been blocked by new Luton boss Mick Harford. A small fee had been agreed with Luton's administrators and the left-back is keen to move to Huish Park. The deal, though, is currently on hold as Harford assesses his squad after replacing Kevin Blackwell at Kenilworth Road.
