Yeovil manager Gary Johnson felt his side took too long to get going in their 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth at Huish Park in League One on Tuesday.
Goals from Izale McLeod and defender Gabor Gyepes cancelled out Reuben Reid's penalty to condemn the Glovers to a sixth successive defeat. Johnson said: "It was a very poor start and it gave them the initiative. "Our goalkeeper and the back three we tried to play didn't look anywhere near as confident as they had done in training. It wasn't the shape, it was down to their own individual mental toughness. "It's turned out to be a poor start to the season from 10 games after a good start from four games. It doesn't mean to say we'll give up, and we're doing all we can to get the next win. "We had one or two players out there who didn't get involved in the game and we needed them to. At the moment, it's going to be a big job and we're going to have to be patient."
