Davis considers loan deals

Steve Davis will consider utilising the loan market next week in a bid to produce an upturn in Crewe's fortunes.

The Railwaymen have won just once this season and Saturday's 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Swindon in Sky Bet League One exposed some frailties in Davis' squad. The manager was quiet in the transfer window's closing stages after acquiring top target Bradden Inman earlier in the summer. However, Davis admits he could bring in more new faces when the loan window reopens next week. "You never know what can happen on deadline day," Davis, who also already acquired Chuks Aneke on loan from Arsenal, told the club's official website. "Someone can come out of nowhere either in or out. You can have names thrown at you late in the day and, because of our record, we are being offered more players aged 21 or under. "They can see the benefit of them coming here and playing competitive football. "I knew a permanent deal was unlikely because we had got in the ones we wanted to, but we can still loan players in after a week's break. "That is something we may consider if we need to. We'll see what sort of reaction we get from the group but I wouldn't totally rule out a loan in the future if I think it will improve us."
