Charlton defender Lewis Page has had a hamstring operation and will miss the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old left-back suffered the injury during the 1-1 home draw with Bradford last week. He underwent surgery on Tuesday and will now begin a rehabilitation period of at least three months.

Head of medical services at Charlton Alastair Thrush told the club's official website: "Lewis sustained a significant injury to his left hamstring in our match against Bradford and his subsequent MRI scan revealed that he had almost completely torn the muscle tendon junction of the hamstring.

"Following consultation with the specialist, it was agreed that the best management for the injury was a surgical reattachment, which he underwent in hospital on Tuesday, and he'll now face three to four months of rehabilitation before hopefully returning to action for the start of pre-season."
