Doncaster Rovers manager Darren Ferguson has been charged by the FA for comments made to the media following the game against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

In an interview after the match, Ferguson labelled the standard of refereeing as "appalling" and claimed the officials should be "shot" after his side were not awarded a penalty.

Ferguson later apologised for his remarks and insisted they were "tongue-in-cheek" and said he does not advocate violence against officials.

The FA have alleged his comments were improper and/or brought the game into disrepute
