Relegated Millwall provided their fans with something to cheer when claiming a 1-0 win over Burnley.

Marvin Williams proved the hero for The Lions, as he pounced on a defensive blunder to fire his side in front just before the break.

Millwall started extremely brightly and Will Hendry had an early chance, but fired over the bar.

Andy Gray was a spark of life for Burnley and he had a shot saved by Colin Doyle, while later in the half he failed to turn John Spicer's cross on target.

Burnley contributed to their own downfall just before the break as James O'Connor misjudged a header back to his keeper and Williams stepped in to loop his shot over Brian Jensen.

Gray tried his luck from distance shortly after the break, but his drive was deflected wide, while Clarets substitute Wade Elliott went close from 25 yards.

Burnley pressed hard for a leveller, but Gray and Michael Duff wasted chances as The Lions claimed the spoils.
