Midfielder to miss start of season

Doncaster midfielder Brian Stock is set to undergo surgery on his hernia this week. A specialist has deemed the 25-year-old's hernia injury serious enough to require an operation. Stock will miss the start of Doncaster's new League One season at home to Millwall on Saturday. The former Bournemouth man is expected to be out of action for Sean O'Driscoll's side until September. Meanwhile, summer signing Gordon Greer played with a plaster cast on his fractured wrist against a Manchester United XI on Friday. Midfielder James Coppinger is hopeful of being available against Millwall following a hamstring strain.
