Oldham boss John Sheridan has backed Craig Davies to continue on the goal trail and maintain his rich vein of form.

Oldham boss John Sheridan has backed Craig Davies to continue on the goal trail and maintain his rich vein of form. Striker Davies joined the Latics from Wolves in the summer and scored his eighth goal of the season in Saturday's 2-2 FA Cup first round tie against Doncaster. Davies produced a predatory effort which confirmed his striking prowess and left Sheridan predicting further goals from the forward. The Latics boss said: "Craig popped up with a great finish. He picked his spot and I'm delighted he got on the scoresheet. Now I hope he can go on and score more goals." Meanwhile, Latics midfielder Neil Kilkenny has been forced to delay his plans to join up with the Australia Under-23 squad because of a head injury sustained against Doncaster.
