Gillingham have completed the double signing of Stevenage Borough pair Barry Fuller and Stuart Lewis.
Stevenage boss Peter Taylor was unable to prevent the duo from moving to the League One side despite Boro currently pushing hard for promotion from the Blue Square Premier division.
Full-back Fuller began his career at Charlton, but failed to make a first-team appearance whilst at the Valley.
Midfielder Lewis came close to joining the Gills back in November but has managed to secure a move this time around. He was released by Spurs as a youngster, but has now made his way back into league football.
Both players have signed for undisclosed fees and have signed contracts which will keep them at Priestfield until 2010.
Gills boss Mark Stimson, who also managed the pair during his time at Stevenage, is delighted to have the duo on board.
"Both are good players and will enhance our playing squad," he told Gillingham's official website.
"They have good qualities and are good characters too. They have instantly settled in with the rest of the boys and I'm sure the fans will quickly appreciate what they have to offer."
Lewis also revealed his joy at being able to join the club at the second time of asking.
"I'm glad things finally went through," he said.
"I enjoy playing under the gaffer and I'm ready to kick-on now.
"I started out at Spurs and I'm pleased to be back in the league. This is a big opportunity for me and one I'm looking forward to."
Fuller added: "I'm a Kent boy and it's good to get the opportunity with my local league club.
"Gillingham are a good club and have the ability to be up there challenging at the end of the season.
"I'm sure we can improve our results because the gaffer is really positive and is starting to build something special here."
