Gillingham have completed the signing of Simeon Jackson from Rushden & Diamonds for £150,000.
The Canada Under 20 international has signed a three-and-a-half year deal, which will keep him at the Priestfield Stadium until 2011.
Jackson had reportedly attracted the interest from a number of Football League clubs, however Gillingham have won the race to sign the striker.
Manager Mark Stimson told the club's official website: "I am absolutely delighted to have got Simeon here.
"He is a player that has scored goals this season, and for the past few seasons, and I am confident he will do the business for us."
