Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has revealed he has a long list of transfer targets after returning from a scouting trip across Europe.
The Spaniard returned to his homeland in search of players as he prepares to bolster his squad for the Championship.
Martinez made strong signings last summer including midfielder Ferrie Bodde and striker Jason Scotland who scored 23 goals in 45 league appearances for the Swans.
The 34-year-old insists the players must be Championship quality but he refuses to reveal the names of this year's targets.
"It was the perfect time for us to go to Spain because the league was coming to a conclusion while our season had already ended," Martinez told the Evening Post.
"It is a good opportunity to catch up with players who we have been monitoring for a long period along with preparing things for the pre-season.
"We wanted to check on the development of players, which is an ongoing process.
"There will be a lot of names and rumours being floated about."
Martinez enjoyed a successful playing career in Spain after he debuted for Real Zaragoza in 1993 before moving to England and he hopes other Spanish based players will follow suit.
"I have spoken to players that want to come to play for Swansea City," Martinez added.
"They are aware of what we have achieved in the past 12 months. There is now a huge following in Spain for Swansea City."
