Midfield star not for sale

Chesterfield have made it clear that they have 'no intention' of allowing Jamie Ward to leave the club. The 22-year-old midfielder scored 12 goals in his first full season for Lee Richardson's side last term, helping to attract admiring glances from elsewhere. The American-born, Northern Ireland U21 international is thought to be high on Northampton's summer wish-list, but Chesterfield chairman Barrie Hubbard insists that the player is not for sale. "I have no intention of allowing Jamie Ward to leave Chesterfield Football Club," Hubbard told the Derbyshire Times. "As far as I am concerned, Ward is stopping here. "There have been no offers, not one. As far as I am concerned there have been no enquiries."
