Carlisle United have signed goalkeeper Ben Williams on a free transfer from Crewe Alexandra.
Williams had spent four years at Gresty Road, but recently rejected the offer of a new contract with the Railwaymen.
He has now agreed a three-year deal with Carlisle and will replace Kieren Westwood, who has joined Coventry City, as the club's No.1.
"It was obvious, once Kieren Westwood left, that the goalkeeper position was going to become a priority for us," Carlisle manager John Ward told the club's official website.
"We wanted to bring someone in who would provide the right level of competition for a starting place in our first team, and we think we've got that with Ben.
"He has played regularly for Crewe, and we know all about him, so we're all now looking forward to working with him.
"He's here to fight for his place, and to show us what he can do, and we're very pleased that he has joined the club."
Crewe are in talks with former Southend United shot-stopper Steve Collis in their quest to replace Williams.
