Magpies move for keeper

Notts County have agreed a deal to sign Scunthorpe keeper Josh Lillis on a month's loan.

Lillis in line to make his debut against Aldershot

Notts County have agreed a deal to sign Scunthorpe United goalkeeper Josh Lillis on a month's loan. Lillis is the back-up to Joe Murphy at Glanford Park and Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins confirmed earlier this month that he wanted to send the youngster out on loan. He will now spend a spell with the Magpies after the League Two club lost Kevin Pilkington and Russell Hoult to injury. The keeper is set to make his debut at Aldershot on Tuesday night and Magpies boss Ian McParland is happy to have secured cover between the posts.

Grateful

"Josh has been in and around the first team at Scunthorpe for the past two years and Nigel Adkins rates him highly," McParland told the club's official website. "As with Jonathan Forte, he feels he will benefit from a spell with us, picking up some valuable League experience, and we're very grateful to him for doing us a good turn." Meanwhile, McParland has confirmed that the club have cancelled the contract of Neil MacKenzie by mutual consent. The midfielder has spent time on loan at Kidderminster and Port Vale this season and has been linked with a move to Burton Albion.
