Pirates boss hoping to emerge from transfer window unscathed

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope cannot wait for the January transfer window to slam shut. With clubs beginning to get desperate in their pursuit of new recruits, the Pirates boss is aware that his top stars may begin to fall under the spotlight. Top scorer Rickie Lambert is certainly expected to generate interest, despite Rovers' insistence that he is not for sale. Trollope is yet to fend off an approach for the 26-year-old frontman, and is hoping that trend will continue through to 2nd February. "As far as I am concerned Rickie is going nowhere," he said. "We have had no offers up to now and his commitment to our club was there for all to see (against Cheltenham on Tuesday)," Lambert ended a lean period with two goals, including a late winner, in midweek as the Pirates came from behind to secure a 3-2 at the Memorial Stadium. "He has been unfortunate during a dry spell of six games but he kept his head up and his winning goal here was as good as any he has scored this season," said Trollope.
