Northampton have signed winger Ikechi Anya on a short-term contract after a spell at Glenn Hoddle's Academy.
The Cobblers are the 21-year-old's fourth club in his short career which began at League Two side Wycombe Wanderers as an apprentice.
But after failing to make the grade he was released in 2007 where he was snapped up by non-league outfit Oxford City.
Anya only spent a few months with City before switching to league rivals Halesowen Town in January 2008 and then joining Glenn Hoddle's Academy in Spain last summer.
He enjoyed nine months with the Academy and, after spending the last few weeks on trial at Sixfields, manager Stuart Gray has been impressed enough to sign him.
"He has been training with us for a couple of weeks and he has played in a couple of reserve games," he told the club's official website.
"He is a wide player with pace and he can go past people and create opportunities. He has been used mainly as an impact player from the bench in his career so far, and he will give us a different option.
"We have had a good look at him and we think he can bring something different to us."
