Orient skipper impressed by manager's impact

Stephen Purches is hoping Leyton Orient manager Geraint Williams will sign a new contract with the club. Williams replaced Martin Ling as Orient boss in February and has guided the club to safety in League One. His contract expires at the end of the season and skipper Purches wants the former Colchester manager to stay in the role. "Hopefully, things will get sorted out, and I'm sure they will," Purches told the Ilford Recorder. "The gaffer has done well and has got the best out of the squad. I'm sure other clubs will be looking at what he has done and will be interested. "But, it's a decision that has nothing to do with the players. It's out of our hands and it's up to the manager and the club."
