Bulls face competition for released midfielder

Hereford United have been linked with a trio of players released by Bristol Rovers. The Bulls are keen to cash in on the summer exodus at the Memorial Stadium and are understood to have tabled offers to bring the out-of-contract trio of Craig Disley, Craig Hinton and Ryan Green to Edgar Street. However, United face a battle for Disley's signature after the also-relegated Cheltenham Town confirmed they are chasing the midfielder. Robins boss Martin Allen revealed the club have held talks with the former Mansfield Town player. Allen told The Bristol Evening Post: "Craig is out of contract, he has scored 27 goals in four seasons from midfield and is a good, powerful, player so we have been in discussions with him." Meanwhile, Bristol Rovers sources have denied rumours linking the club with 21-year-old Hibernian midfielder Ross Chisholm, who is out of contract at Easter Road this summer. But Rovers boss Paul Trollope is planning further chops to his side after placing Sean Rigg, Andy Williams and Lewis Haldane on the transfer list. The threesome all have another year left on their contracts but Trollope is determined to freshen up his squad ahead of the 2009/2010 campaign.
