Goalkeeper brought in after duo ruled out

Experienced goalkeeper Steve Phillips has joined Shrewsbury on a one-month loan deal from Bristol Rovers. Shrews boss Paul Simpson has moved quickly to recruit the 31-year-old as Chris Neal and Glyn Garner are on the sidelines with groin and shoulder injuries, respectively. Phillips, who has played nearly 400 games for Bristol City and Bristol Rovers, has played second fiddle to on-loan Newcastle keeper Fraser Forster at the Memorial Stadium this season. Simpson told the club's official website: "After getting the news earlier in the week that Chris Neal had a tear in his groin that would keep him out, we had to look to bring someone in. "I'm delighted we've been able to bring in an experienced goalkeeper such as Steve to help us out." Meanwhile, striker Omer Riza has been ruled out until November after damaging his ankle in the club's 5-0 thumping at Dagenham last week.
