York City boss Martin Foyle says he has not received a bid from Huddersfield Town for Richard Brodie, but is expecting offers for the striker in the New Year.
Brodie has impressed for the Blue Square Premier side this season and took his tally for the campaign to 17 goals in midweek after netting a hat-trick against Chester City.
He also scored twice in last weekend's 3-2 victory over Crewe Alexandra in the FA Cup first round and has been linked with Huddersfield.
Foyle has confirmed there have been no firm offers from the League One club, but he would not be surprised if Terriers manager Lee Clark makes a move when the transfer window reopens.
"I've not heard anything from Lee Clark, Huddersfield or anybody else, but I expect to and, to be honest, expected to about ten games ago because it's not just about Brodes' goals," Foyle told the York Press.
"We've seen a massive improvement in him as a player this season and he will be on a lot of people's radar.
"There will be speculation but, until I actually get a phone call, we will carry on normally. I know what will probably happen - we will get a derisory offer from somewhere.
"But Brodes is pleased that he's still learning the game and I would always advise a player to do that first before you move on."
