Marcos Painter is determined to make an impact at Brighton & Hove Albion after completing his loan move to the Withdean Stadium.
The versatile defender, as revealed by skysports.com, has agreed a loan deal until the end of the season with Brighton after struggling for playing time at Swansea this term.
He is expecting to feature at centre-half for the Seagulls and is keen to play his role in helping the club climb away from trouble in League One.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge at Brighton," Painter told the club's official website. "I've spoken to Gus Poyet and I think he's looking at me as a centre-half as well.
"They need to get away from the bottom end of the table, but they've got a few games in hand and I'm committed to helping them climb the league.
"I'm fully committed to the challenge and I really want to do a good job there."
Brighton boss Poyet added: "Marcos is a good signing for us and I am looking forward to working with him.
"He is left-footed, which is good because we don't have too many in the side. He also gives us options because he can play at left-back and in the centre."
