Oldham Athletic manager Dave Penney is still hoping that defender Joe Jacobson can play a part in the club's relegation fight this season.
The Latics hover precariously close to the drop zone, just two points above Tranmere Rovers, but they do have two games in hand over most of their rivals.
Welsh full-back Jacobson has been plagued by injury all season and has recently sought a specialist's advice to help him make a return to action.
However, despite the 23-year-old suffering another setback, Penney is refusing to rule Jacobson out of figuring again this season.
"Joe has had a couple of setbacks with injury this season, which haven't helped either him or the club," Penney told skysports.com.
"We don't like to see any player out injured, but hopefully we can get him back as quick as possible.
"We haven't ruled him out for this season yet, so we are hoping he can get himself fit and ready to help us through our final few games this term."
The Latics halted the slide with a vital win over relegation rivals Gillingham at the weekend and the former Doncaster Rovers boss is hoping that they can kick on from that victory with a solid performance at play-off chasing Huddersfield on Tuesday night.
Penney added: "Even when we have been losing, the work ethic, commitment and desire from the players is there for all to see.
"If we carry on with that kind of attitude then we should be okay this season.
"We are unbeaten in our last two away games, so hopefully that trend can continue tonight."
