Mark Stimson is waiting to see whether Gillingham captain Barry Fuller is able to play a full part in the club's battle against relegation.
Fuller suffered a broken nose in the first minute of last weekend's 3-2 win over Leeds United which left Gillingham three points outside the drop zone.
The right-back only recently returned to first-team action after breaking his arm, and Gillingham face league leaders Norwich City on Saturday.
Gills boss Stimson told Kent Online: "It's going to be down to the swelling.
"He just wants to be out there. He will probably have his arm and face strapped up and will be like some sort of superhero.
"An old friend of mine Efe Sodje, he used to wear a mask, but I don't think Barry will entertain that. He's not into all that, he would rather play and head it and if it breaks again, it breaks."
