Tranmere have released six players at the end of the season, but have offered new contracts to six.

Parry starts shaping squad for next season

Tranmere Rovers have opted to release six players at the end of the season, but have offered new contracts to the same number. Striker Bas Savage is among those to leave Prenton Park after scoring nine goals in 62 appearances since his move from Millwall two years ago, while midfielder Chris Shuker departs after almost four years at the club. Fellow midfielder Gareth Edds has also not been offered a new deal, so his two-year stay with the club comes to an end as boss Les Parry shapes his squad for next season. Charlie Barnett, Josh Macauley and Kithson Bain will also leave the League One club. However, Parry has offered new contracts to Craig Curran, John Welsh, Zoumana Bakayogo, Ryan Fraughan and Marlon Broomes, while Jack Mackreth has been offered his first professional deal. Parry told the club's official website: "I'd like to thank the six players for their time at Prenton Park and wish them all the best for the future. "We've targeted the areas we feel we need to improve and we will be working hard over the summer to bring the players we want to the club."
