Skysports.com understands that Milton Keynes Dons are in talks with former Liverpool and Manchester City star Dietmar Hamann.
The former Germany international midfielder did not play at all last season following his release from City last summer.
He held talks with Sven Goran Eriksson about moving to Notts County, while there was also interest in his homeland, but in the end he spent the entire campaign on the sidelines.
The 36-year-old is now believed to be discussing the possibility of making a return with the League One side.
