Striker joins Slade revolution

Leyton Orient have completed the signing of 26-year-old frontman Alex Revell on a two-year contract. Skysports.com reported on Tuesday that Russell Slade was favourite to land the former Brighton and Southend ace, despite interest surfacing from numerous other clubs. Revell, who was out of contract, joins up with the League One outfit as a free agent. He had other options to consider, including an offer from Wycombe with whom he ended the 2009/10 campaign, but felt a switch to the Matchroom Stadium was his best choice. Orient boss Slade, who is in the process of putting his own stamp on his squad after joining the club late in the season, is delighted to have secured Revell's signature and believes he will prove to be a useful asset next term. He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to bring Alex to the club. He falls into the category of a target man, and is a hardworking player who is strong in the air. "In my opinion he's capable of scoring more goals than he has done in recent seasons, and that was proved during his time at Wycombe. "He has a good character and I'm sure the fans will take to him quickly."
