Exeter City trialist Jamie Cureton is hoping he will know this week if he has earned himself a deal with the club.
The 34-year-old striker is now in his third week of training with the Grecians, and manager Paul Tisdale is expected to make a decision on the former Norwich man soon.
Cureton believes the Exeter coach has been pleased with his efforts so far, and is keen to know where he stands.
"I think the manager has been pleased with me. I hope we will start talking about my future this week," he told the Express & Echo.
"How I do will determine what the manager's thoughts are and whether he thinks I can come in and do a job. Hopefully I have done enough so far and I hope to do more this week and then we will be able to sit down and talk.
"If he wants me to stay then great, but if it's not right then we move on. I'm hoping we sort something out either way soon."
Cureton is expected to feature in Exeter's friendly clash at Bath City on Tuesday night, and he is happy with his fitness.
"With each game you get stronger and now I have played two 45 minutes and trained for two weeks," he added.
"The manager has asked me to come back in this week and hopefully he will use the game on Tuesday to have another look at me.
"Thursday's game (against Clevedon Town) wasn't too bad. It is all about fitness and getting a run out at the moment, but it was nice to score."
