Carlisle manager Greg Abbott is still hopeful of signing defender Jean-Yves M'Voto from Sunderland.
M'Voto played for the Cumbrians in their friendly against Newcastle on Saturday and Abbott expected a decision from the player within 48 hours on whether he wanted to join.
The 21-year-old has opted not to link up with Carlisle for the first part of this week but Abbott remains optimistic that a deal might be struck.
Abbott said: "Jean wasn't told of our interest until Thursday, so it's all happened quite quickly for him.
"We know that we're still an option for him and that we've given him something to think about, so we now have to wait and see what he and his advisers decide to do next."
