Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has called on strikers David Ball and Thomas Dossevi to take their opportunity following Charlie Austin's injury.
The ex-non-league starlet is out with a dislocated shoulder, which he sustained after a collision with Southampton keeper Kelvin Davis during their 1-0 win over the Saints on Saturday.
Wilson now hopes the fringe duo, who both joined in the summer, can fill the void left by last season's 20-goal marksman.
He told skysports.com: "They are both chomping at the bit to get into the first-team and I'm sure they will both see it as a good opportunity for them to impress and it is.
"Their challenge really is to keep Charlie out of the team when he is fully fit again and if they manage to do that then they will be playing very well."
However, the Robins boss insists he has not ruled out dipping into the loan market should the duo fail to impress.
"We are always looking to strengthen in all areas and one of those will be the striking department just in case we need to bring in a replacement for Charlie Austin whilst he is on the sidelines," said Wilson.
"It is a good chance to exercise the depth of our squad and allow the others to show what they can do."
