Veteran striker Steve Fletcher insists that no-one is getting carried away by Bournemouth's impressive start in League One.
The Cherries have made a great start to the campaign, with the 2-0 win over in-form Carlisle on Saturday pushing them into the top three.
Fletcher, who has been associated with the Cherries for the best part of 18 years, believes there is still room for improvement following last season's promotion.
"We have done very well so far by carrying on the good work from last season and taking it to a completely different level," Fletcher told skysports.com.
"We knew that we wouldn't get away with the odd slack performance that we put in last season because of the quality that is in League One.
"We've tightened up in a lot of areas and the boys have been outstanding, but on the other hand we have thrown points away at times.
"We were 3-1 up against Notts County with minutes to go, so we should be top of the league.
"However, it has been a brilliant start to the season and hopefully we will have learnt from the late collapse against Notts County.
"We've looked solid at the back, apart from that Notts County game, and at the other end we have scored a lot of goals, but it is still early doors.
"I'd rather be up there in the top half of the division rather than looking up at the rest from the bottom and worrying about where the next points are going to come from.
"We did that last season by getting off to a great start because it is easier to maintain top spot rather than needing to put a run together to get back in amongst it."
