Us boss signs up defender

Oxford United manager Chris Wilder has signed Bury's experienced central defender Ben Futcher on loan until January.

The centre-half is Wilder's second loan signing of the week after the arrival of Paul Wotton from Southampton and is likely to go straight into the U's squad for the trip to Rotherham. Futcher, who played in Bury's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Tranmere on Tuesday, is delighted to have arrived at the Kassam Stadium. "I'm glad to be here. I got wind of it a couple of days ago so it's happened quite quick so I'm absolutely delighted to be here," he told the club's official website. "I've played against Oxford a few times so I know what they are all about. I'm looking forward to coming here and there's a job to do. "They are obviously on a sticky run at the minute so I've got some hard work to do to help Oxford turn it around. The gaffer knows what I'm about, he worked with me at Bury so he's brought me in and hopefully I can do well. "I'm here until January so my aim is to do as well as I can and help Oxford get some results and see where it takes us."
