Peterborough defender Scott Griffiths is hoping to return to Chesterfield on loan in January should his first-team chances remain restricted at London Road.
The former Dagenham & Redbridge full-back enjoyed a successful three-month spell with the Spireites earlier this season, making 19 appearances.
However, he continues to be frozen out of the side at Peterborough and would jump at the chance of a January move back to Chesterfield upon his return to fitness after a recent hernia operation.
"I'm always open to the possibility of going back there again because it is a great club with an impressive new stadium, brilliant fans and a great group of players," Griffiths told skysports.com.
"The management staff were great with me and know what they are doing, so it would be a great opportunity for anyone to go there to play their football.
"I'm never going to rule out playing for Peterborough because they are my club after all and I wouldn't want to rule that option out at the moment.
"Things change all the time in football and you never know what is round the corner, but at the same time I would be open to rejoining Chesterfield again as well."
Chesterfield have suffered a dip in form since Griffiths' return to Peterborough, with just one win in four, but Griffiths is confident that they can get their promotion bid back on track.
He added: "I wouldn't want to jinx anything, but I feel that they have got a great chance of going up this season, with the start they have had and the setup they have there.
"They've already made the upgrades for the step up to League One, so hopefully they can follow through with it on the pitch.
"It would be well deserved because the boys have done well so far this season and everyone is playing their part."
