Central defender Scott Cuthbert has agreed a free-transfer move from Swindon Town to Leyton Orient.

The centre-back was out of contract at the County Ground and, following the Robins' relegation to League Two, has opted to remain in the third tier with the O's. Not even the arrival of Paolo Di Canio could persuade the former Celtic defender to remain in Wiltshire, where he had been since 2009, and he has penned a two-year deal at Brisbane Road. The 23-year-old becomes Orient boss Russell Slade's first signing of the summer. Cuthbert told his new club's official website: "I'm absolutely delighted to have signed for Orient. As soon as I heard about the interest in me I was keen to come down here and get things sorted. "It's a great club that wants to move forward and I want to be a part of that."
