Oldham reserve-team manager Lee Duxbury was pleased with trialist Dean Bouzanis' performance against Tranmere's second string.
Goalkeeper Bouzanis is currently trying to earn a contract at Boundary Park following his release from Liverpool in May, but could not prevent Rovers claiming a 2-0 win as Martin Devaney's strike settled the game on Tuesday. "He did quite well," Duxbury told Press Association Sport. "The second goal, I don't know if it got a bit of a deflection, but balls nowadays move about. "His kicking is fantastic - he's like a sweeper to us - and he had a very good game." Latics are running the rule over Bouzanis after goalkeeping coach Paul Gerrard was forced into action when Alex Cisak was sent-off in the derby defeat to Bury. However, in the absence of manager Paul Dickov, Duxbury remained coy on the prospect of bringing in the 20-year-old Australian on a permanent basis. He added: "I'm the wrong man to ask, but having two good goalkeepers at a club is not a bad thing so we'll have to wait and see."
