Winger sold to Bournemouth for a profit

Huddersfield Town have sold winger Donal McDermott to League One rivals Bournemouth. The 22-year-old only moved to the Galpharm Stadium in the summer, but made just 11 starts as he struggled to feature in manager Lee Clark's plans. Clark has consequently decided it would be best for former Manchester City man McDermott to move on and Huddersfield have benefited from making a profit on the transfer. The Town boss told his club's official website: "I would like to thank Donal for his effort during his time at Huddersfield Town. He's been a fantastic professional throughout his stay.

Hard

"However sometimes, for whatever reason, it just doesn't happen for a player at a club. "We have worked extremely hard with Donal on the training ground, and he has worked extremely hard too, but in the end this is a good move for everyone concerned. "Donal knows Bournemouth well from his time there and I have no doubt that he will be a success for them. "This move is the best for all parties. We have ended up making a bit of profit on him too in the end, so we have to move on now." The terms of the transfer stipulate McDermott cannot play against Huddersfield in League One or, if necessary, in the play-offs.
