Lancashire keen to pip Orient

Olly Lancashire wants to drag Leyton Orient into the League One relegation scrap with a victory for Walsall at Brisbane Road on Saturday.

Lancashire has been part of a solid Saddlers backline that has kept three successive clean sheets, with victories over Wycombe and Scunthorpe followed up by Saturday's goalless draw at Preston. And the centre-back is aiming to make it four at Orient this weekend as fifth-bottom Walsall look to close the seven-point gap on the O's, who are currently 16th. "I don't think Orient are safe at the moment," Lancashire told the club's official website. "The way League One is, no-one can be totally relaxed until they have mathematically done it. "There are going to be a lot of twists and turns until the end of the season and hopefully we can bring as many teams into the battle as possible. Teams like Tranmere and Oldham, even though they've got some games in hand, will see sides like us starting to get a run of results together and it will make them a little bit nervous. "I wouldn't be surprised to see a club from that pack just below halfway fall into the lower reaches of the table with five or 10 games to go."
