Curle counts on Adebola impact

Notts County manager Keith Curle hopes to have on-loan striker Dele Adebola available for the final six games of the season.

Adebola has played just 29 minutes since moving to Meadow Lane from Hull on March 20. He made his debut as a substitute in a 5-2 home defeat to Sheffield United and has been sidelined for the last two games because of a knee injury. The 36-year-old will undergo intensive treatment throughout this week as Notts prepare to play Leyton Orient and Yeovil in the space of four days over Easter. Games against Brentford, Bury, Wycombe and Colchester follow as Curle's side chase a play-off spot. "He was close to being involved against Oldham last Saturday, but we couldn't afford to take a risk and play him when he wasn't fully ready," Curle said. "If we did and he made it worse, we would be without him for three or four weeks so it wasn't worth putting him on the bench and playing him for 45 minutes. "We took the decision to leave him out, rightly, to make sure he is available for the next six games. He's going to have treatment to give him every opportunity. We've got some big games and we want him back." Curle currently has only two fit strikers - Lee Hughes and Daniel Bogdanovic - because Jonathan Forte fractured three bones in his face against Sheffield United and has undergone surgery. He could be out for the rest of the season.
