Curle delighted with number one

Notts County manager Keith Curle hailed goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski's performance after seeing his side draw 0-0 at Yeovil.

The away-day specialists survived a second-half barrage at Huish Park to earn a point in their League One play-off charge. The Magpies are now unbeaten in six league games and have not lost on the road since Curle took charge in February. Curle, who surprisingly released Stuart Nelson in the summer, believes Bialkowski's performance went some way to vindicating his belief in the Pole. "I think it was probably his best display for Notts County," said Curle. "There were a lot of heads turned when Stuart Nelson was released last season, but I did it because I wanted to bring in a number one goalkeeper and I didn't think it would be right for him to be a number two. "We parted on good terms because he knew the potential Bartosz had, and now I think he really is growing into a number one." Curle continued: "We needed to be resolute in our defending and it was difficult conditions to play in. The pitch was cutting up badly and there were bobbles all over the place. "I think we adapted well to that, but had to get the ball forward quicker than we normally do because of the conditions. "We defended well and had a good tempo to our play, but found it a little difficult with our fluidity. I think the conditions probably suited them a little more. "This could be a massive point for us, so now we'll regroup and start planning for the game with Rotherham on Tuesday."
