Rotherham boss Steve Evans returns to Crawley for the first time on Saturday and admits the club will always be in his heart.
The 50-year-old Scot spent five years at Broadfield Stadium and delivered unparalled success, earning the Red Devils promotion to the Football League, masterminding two FA Cup runs and setting them on their way to League One, before eventually leaving for the Millers in April 2012. And he is relishing his return to the scene of those amazing memories, but is leaving no room for sentiment. "As a manager, you will never forget those times," he said. "How can you forget breaking every record in non-league football, how can you forget two cup runs to the fifth round, how can you forget playing Man Utd off the pitch at Old Trafford? "You can never forget that, but all that success has afforded me the opportunity to come and work here. That success got me the job here, if I only did an alright job there I wouldn't be here now. "The club will always be in my heart, it can't ever go away. I still speak regularly to the owners socially, they are salt of the earth and really good people. "Every player or manager that goes back to their old club wants to win. I am looking forward to going back and hopefully we can win."
