Mohamed back with Vale

On-loan Port Vale midfielder Kaid Mohamed has returned to Vale Park from his loan spell at AFC Wimbledon.

Mohamed was eligible to make one last appearance for the League Two club on Saturday against Wycombe but a hamstring injury meant he was not fit enough for a place in the squad. Dons boss Neal Ardley had previously indicated that he would be open to keeping the 29-year-old at Kingsmeadow, but insists that will not now be happening. "It's finished," said Ardley after his side's 3-0 win at Wycombe. "He had a tight hamstring so he couldn't be put in the squad (on Saturday) so we sent him back. "That hasn't worked out as well a we'd hoped. We went for a proven player in the league rather than an Under-21 player and it didn't quite work out. "I don't think his fitness levels were quite where they should have been. He won't be coming back at the moment."
