Scunthorpe United are hopeful of landing Rangers striker Tom Brighton on loan.League Two leaders Scunthorpe United are hopeful of landing a striker to replace injured veteran Peter Beagrie.
Iron boss Brian Laws is looking to use the club's links with Scottish giants Rangers to sign Tom Brighton on loan until the end of the year.
Should the 20-year-old move south to Scunthorpe, he would need to do so before Tuesday's transfer window closes for the calendar year.
The youngster can play either on the wing or up front and scored against the Lincolnshire-based side in a pre-season contest this summer.
Should Brighton arrive at Scunthorpe, Laws will hope the striker can be as successful as former Rangers loanee Steven MacLean.
The Glanford Park side benefited from MacLean's performances in front of goal last season before the hit-man left Ibrox this summer to join League One side Sheffield Wednesday in a permanent move.
