Bournemouth and Bradford won while Scunthorpe's clash with Cheltenham was off.
Scunthorpe did not have the chance to go four points clear at the top of League One as their clash at Cheltenham was postponed.
In a reduced weekend of League One action Bournemouth moved up two places as they beat bottom club Brentford 1-0.
Veteran Darren Anderton gave Bournemouth the advantage over fellow strugglers Brentford with a goal just before the break which won the game for the home side.
Bradford City moved into the top half of League One with victory over fellow mid-table dwellers Port Vale.
Steven Schumacher scored the only goal of the game in the second-half as the Bantams held on for the victory.
Tranmere Rovers scored late on to earn a point at home to Northampton Town.
Scott McGleish scored early on to give The Cobblers a first-half lead.
But John Mullin (pictured)cancelled out McGleish's strike with a goal in the dying minutes to move Rovers ever closer to a play-off spot.
