Scunthorpe midfielder Matthew Sparrow has been handed a three-match ban.
Scunthorpe midfielder Matthew Sparrow has been handed an additional three-match ban after admitting to a charge of violent conduct.
Sparrow was sent off in the recent draw at Brighton and when he left the pitch at The Withdean Stadium he also clashed with Seagulls defender Adam El-Abd
Sparrow served a one-game suspension for the two cautions he incurred but confessed to his later crime of violent conduct at a Football Association disciplinary hearing this week.
News of The FA's banning of Sparrow for three games will come as a blow to both the player and his League One promotion-chasing side.
Sparrow had only just returned from a knee ligament injury which had sidelined him since early December.
